BOTSWANA NATIONAL ANTHEM

The Botswana national anthem was made by Dr Kgalemang Motsete in the late 1900s. the national anthem is sang more especially in important meetings like meetings at the kgotla, at the national, at the parliament house even when the zebras (national team prepare for kickoff). the above song is in the Botswana language called setswana.

 Botswana currency is called "Pula (P)" which means rain in English. the smallest currency is called "thebe(t)". the P100 note has a picture of the three chiefs who went Britain to ask for colonization, the image of the president is always in the P10 note.

ECONOMY OF BOTSWANA

The economy of Botswana is based on mining (gold, copper nickel,soda etc), agriculture, tourism.

SHELTER

The shelters of the ethnic groups of Botswana are different depending on whether is a permanent shelter (housing) or a temporary one.  the above picture is the hut of the permanent settlers of some ethnic groups.

these one is for the bushmen, they simple do it from the easily available materials because its temporary. they live a normadic life they move from one place to another looking for green pastures thats why they build temporary shelter.

FOOD OF BOTSWANA

as i already said in the earlier post that Botswana has many ethnic groups, each of this groups has different staple foods which originated long ago from their ancestors. the picture shown above shows the staple food of one of the ethnic group in the northern part of Botswana. it is porridge made from maize meal with mophane worm.
the plant above is a staple food of the other ethnic group called Bayeyi who stay in the place with abundant waters. it is a plant they get from the river or dam then they mix with red meat to make their deelicious meal.

CLOTHING IN BOTSWANA

Botswana is a small country but has many ethnic groups which has different cultures, norms, staple food and the dressing code is different for different groups. the first photo uploaded is the dressing code of one of the ethnic group in Botswana called Baherero. 
the above photo is the dressing code of an ethnic group called Basarwa, they are also called the bushmen.

NICE TIMES - WEDDING DAY

marriage in Botswana is a very precision occassion,  it brings happiness and unity to the two families (the brides family and grooms family).   in the past parents were  finding partners for their children but in morden days everybody can find his or her partner everywhere, on facebook, at the bar, at school, at church the list is jst endless. during the wedding day their are entertainments like dancing and singing, the above video is how the flower boys and flower girls dance to entertain the crowd.
